Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup uncooked Basmati rice, rinsed and drained
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • pinch of ground turmeric
  • 1 cup (250 ml) water
  • 1 tablespoon Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in an electric instant pot turned to the sauté mode.

Add the rice and dried basil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the rice changes color.

Stir in garlic salt, ground turmeric, lemon juice, and water.

Close the pot and lock the lid. Set the machine to cook at high pressure. Set the timer to cook for 6 minutes.

Using the Natural Release method, bring pressure to normal. Carefully unlock and open the lid. Stir cooked rice well before serving.

Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot.
