Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds (720 g) ground turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped yellow onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped red and green bell peppers
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup of unseasoned breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons steak sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) chili sauce

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, except chili sauce. Mix well.

Place turkey mixture into greased 9x5-inch (22.5-12.5 cm) loaf pan.

Pour the chili sauce over the mixture.

Place the pan on a rack in a 6-quart (6 L) slow cooker.

Cover the pot and cook on a low-heat setting for  6-7 hours, or until the thermometer registers 170º F (85º C).
