Healthy blackcurrant smoothie recipe. Very easy and delicious non-alcoholic mixed drink. use any berries (fresh or frozen) for this recipe.

Interesting facts about blackcurrants: They have a high concentration of antioxidants and rich in vitamin C. Blackcurrants contain vitamins A, B-5, B-6, B-1, and E. Also, in blackcurrants present copper, calcium, phosphorus, manganese, magnesium, and potassium.

Blackcurrant seed oil contains Omega-6 fatty acid, which helps to decrease inflammation in the body .

Healthy Blackcurrant Smoothie Recipe with Banana and Yogurt

Ingredients: 1/4 pound (120 g) fresh or frozen blackcurrants, 1 small ripe banana, peeled and chunked, 1 cup (250 ml) apple juice, 2 tablespoons (30 ml) plain yogurt

Instructions: In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth. Pour into a cocktail glass. Serve immediately.

Blackcurrant Smoothie with Buttermilk

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients: 1 cup (250 ml) fresh or frozen blackcurrants, 2 cups (500 ml) buttermilk, freshly squeezed juice of 1 lemon, 4 tablespoons (60 ml) clear honey, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract

Instructions: Chop blackcurrants in a blender, then strain
through a sieve.

  • 1 large ripe banana, peeled and chunked
  • 1 cup (250 ml) almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey

Instructions

In a blender or food processor, combine all ingredients.

Process until smooth.

Pour into cocktail glasses.  serve cold.
