Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chickpea flour, for the batter
- 1 tablespoon sooji
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) water
- 2 tablespoons chickpea flour, for rolling the vada
- pinch of baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon rice flour
- pinch of salt
- For Filling:
- 2 cups boiled potatoes
- 1 small piece of ginger
- 1 green chili
- 1/8 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Mash boiled potatoes, then add ginger, chilies, red chili powder, salt, and turmeric.
Mix well and make small balls. Set aside.
To make a covering:
Take some besan cooked in water, add salt to it and then roll the make into vadas.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine water and chickpea flour. Mix well and make a batter.
Stir in baking soda, salt, ground turmeric, and red chili powder.
Add 1 tablespoon sooji to the batter and mix well.
Once the mixture is ready, dip the potato balls in it, removing any additional batter.
Preheat your air fryer to 400º F (200º C) for 5 minutes.
Place potato balls in the air fryer basket. Cook at 360º F (180º C) for 6-7 minutes.
Brush the vada with cooking oil. Fry for a further 6-7 minutes.
Serve hot with ketchup.
